Recovering a Lost Art—Blogging

Taty in a white dress

Blogging in a world of Brand Deals and AI

I am tired of the AI, consumerism and the attention. So I am bringing the lost art of blogging back in to my life. Fuck the noise!

In seeking authenticity, I think the emerging young adults in society are going to move away from capitalistic, monopolizing companies that care only for our money and attention. Or at least that is my hope. With this being said, I can see blogs making a comeback. The world is just filled with incessant noise, and navigating it can be difficult when seeking slow, intentional content. No paid sponsorships, no clip farms, and no content that is curated to the point of looking like a “xerox of a xerox of a xerox” or whatever Bojack said. Don’t sue me.

I have a plethora of thoughts and life experiences that I have found myself wanting to share over the last several years of my adulthood. So much so that I have created many accounts dedicated to posting my creative pursuits, a T!Kt0K for vlogging, and in the last year, tatyblogs.com. My expensive, time-consuming portfolio project that burned down in a disappointing professional ethics fire and turned a black hole.

I tried other things in the last year—specifically that damn clock app—and the idea of publicising my life on such large platforms can leave a bad taste in my mouth. The reason for this is how easily anyone can access my content, creative pursuits, and life. And it did happen! Once my videos started gaining traction, having my videos raised on a platform of noise, companies wanting advertising, people thinking it's acceptable to have an input on my choices,.. I lost interest.

So here I am, a year later. Funnily enough, Taty Blogs has always kind of been a name that stuck around, but I never actually considered writing a blog blog per se. It has just been a portfolio and creative museum of my endeavors, I guess. But as I journal, I realize that I do have a lot to say, and there are so many stories, ideas, and observations behind the pictures I take, experiences I have, and things I see. Plus, the idea of blogging on my personal site appeals to me because:

  •  I can be more intentional about the content I am sharing since this is also my digital portfolio

  • No pressure that tons of people I don’t know will see and feel the need to share their opinions on my life

  • No ads, sponsorships, brand deals, etc. Nobody but me!

This will almost be like a digital scrapbook of my everyday thoughts and cool shit I do. A personal sanctuary where I can grow and express myself. Slowly. I guess that’s why I am calling this “Recovering a Lost Art!”

So here's to Taty Blogging, again,
